Description We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for handling both accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger. You will also be expected to provide subject matter expertise on revenue accounting and manage the collection of outstanding accounts receivables balances.Responsibilities: Provide subject matter expertise on revenue accounting matters. Review and ensure compliance with client contractual agreements in relation to system related items. Handle the collection of outstanding accounts receivables balances. Complete client contractual invoicing, including month-end/weekly calculations, verification of operating results, and preparation of necessary journal entries. Lead initiatives to streamline revenue and collections tasks for a more efficient revenue close calendar. Standardize processes to increase automation, interfaces, and use of data analytics. Prepare and implement written accounting policies and positions for non-standard revenue transactions. Implement and support internal controls and procedures related to revenue recognition, monthly close/weekly close and reporting processes. Assist with annual external audits and other ad hoc projects as neededRequirements Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. At least one year of experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role. Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Proficient in conducting bank reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger. Familiarity with creating and maintaining journal entries. Experience in completing month-end close processes. Strong numerical proficiency and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Must have the legal right to work in the job location.
