Job Title : Structured Cabling Subject Matter Expert (SME)Location: Plano, TX

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a strong, self-driven person to serve as Cabling SMEPossible international travel to Mexico and Canada.Timing: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST

Skills & Qualifications Required:Minimal of 5-years hands-on cabling installation experienceMinimal of 3-year years Project Management experienceMinimal of 2-years cost estimating cabling projectsThe ability to work with minimal direction, handle multiple assignments at the same time, prioritize tasks and thoroughness in completing tasksGood communication skills (written and verbal) with customer first mind-setGood documentation skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, MS Visio, MS Excel and MS Word)

Preferred:RCDD CertificationKnowledge of new building construction related to IT infrastructure. Includes but not limited to: Property Developer Role, Architect Role, General Contractor Role, Consultants Role, Networking, Audio Visual.Experience with AutoCAD, and BluebeamExperience with Scrum

Position TaskRequirements Gathering:Participate in project kick-off meeting with Infra. PMDo initial site visit.Gather user/system cabling requirements.Create initial designs

Vendor Selection:Determine qualified cabling install companies to participate in RFP and installations.Budget / Funding:Prepare cost estimate and provide to Cabling TMsEnsure cabling orders are submitted on-timeTrack Cost (Spend/Actual)Schedule Development:Create schedule aligning with construction and IT schedules.Communicate with partners, manufacturers, distributors, and installers.Develop Roles & Responsibilities:Ensure R&R with Toyota DepartmentsMaintain and distribute IT cabling standards.Stay abreast of industry standards.Conduct Checks and Provide Status:Provide status to PM/Mgt.Review various drawings for accurate cabling provisioning.Perform site visits to check cabling install progressCoordination with Procurement:Prepare bid packagesHost bid meetingsSupport technical Q&AReview and approve vendor BOMs/quotesSubmit & track ordersOversee Implementation:Support staging/laydown requestTrack installation progress and support issue resolutionReview Testing & As-builts:Ensure all cables are tested and labeled per standardsPerform check & inspectionsEnsure punch-list are 100% completedHand-over to Operations:Hand-over cabling documentation and test results to local Field ServicesProject Close-out:Obtain As-built drawingsObtain test resultsEnsure invoices paid in fullProvide input to ReflectionDocument kaizens and new standards
