Role overview/Team Fit:
  • Role will report solid line into the VP SC IT and dotted line into the PMO. The portfolio manager overseas a portfolio that currently has around 35-40M of spend made up by 50+ projects. They work with a team of 2 permanent and rest primarily contract Project managers running the individual programs, but also very closely with the SC IT Directors that oversea each function of SC (Manufacturing, Customer Service & Planning, Logistics & Distribution, Procurement, Large Transformations, including analytics)

First 30/60/90 days:
  • Quickly up to speed on health of portfolio and areas requiring attention to ensure delivery within 2021 is successful. Engage with SC IT team as 2022 portfolio is being finalized including planning / costing scenario work and in Q4 begin to work on readiness to launch key programs in Q1/22.

Outside of Portfolio Management, are there any additional skills required for the role? Technical or otherwise?
  • Ideally be able to clearly communicate with program/project managers and assess challenges based on risks with scope, resources, costs, etc.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Portfolio management experience within the Supply Chain sector. Ability to work in Agile and Waterfall Hybrid environment. Strong Financial acumen. Experiences that show both depth and breadth of skills across delivery and PMO capabilities. Not looking for only a project / program manager, but a resources that truly can manage program and project managers along with the key expectations of the PMO processes. Strong appreciation for governance and structure, balanced with nimble / agile approach to delivery.
  • Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma is preferred as they transform the organization to Agile and are driven by Lean Portfolio management. The ability to identify opportunities and use a structured, proven approach to improve, would be super helpful. They find talent that has some lean background works really well in SC in particular.
