Support Representative II, Shop TechnicianPOSITION PROFILEThe Support Representative II, Shop Technician prepares a broad range of new equipment for delivery and rebuilds used equipment. Other primary responsibilities include providing technical support, quality assurance, training, and general direction to other technicians. Additional responsibilities may include, but not limited to running meetings and following up on special order requirements. Leads technicians in the correct direction when other management is unavailable. Sets the example for other technicians to look at for work ethic, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude. Champions continuous quality improvement of shop output.Job Duties and Responsibilities· Set-up and prep all assigned equipment and perform operational checks making all necessary adjustments utilizing the Supply Chain Install/Return Checklist.· Able to perform setups on advanced equipment, such as production gear.· Able to program equipment to match specific customer requirements, following Customer Configuration Document (CCD) specifications. May be involved with testing of new CCDs.· Provides technical support and on the job training to other technicians and delivery/install drivers.· Champions continuous quality and productivity improvement.· Analyze and troubleshoot equipment failures to determine necessary corrective action and makes repairs as required.· Maintains clean and organized workspace.· Completes all required administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.· Responsible for closing jobs in WMS and tracking hours to manage productivity.· Responsible for control of company assets provided to complete required work.· Follows all company training programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines.· Manages ordering of parts for repairs as assigned by Management.· Completes training courses assigned by Shop management.· Adheres to all facility security and safety rules.· Serves as backup to shop supervisor/manager as required.· Other duties as assigned.Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)Typically requires:· A High School Diploma, or GED preferred.· Mechanical/electronics trade school is a plus.· Minimum of 5 years related work experience.· Demonstrated mastery of all shop technician competencies.KNOWLEDGE, Skills And Abilities· Excellent diagnostic, problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment· Good organizational skills.· Good work habits and professional demeanor.· Good communications skills.· Ability to lead and direct people.Working Conditions, MENTAL aND PHYSICAL DEMANDS· Typically, a warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.· Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend, and apply complex material, data, and instruction · prepare, provide and convey diversified information.· Exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.· Physical effort is required in the lifting of tool cases, and assorted equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, as well as the ability to move objects on wheels that may weigh up to 700 pounds.· Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling are required to service equipment at floor level.· May be required to work overtime or outside the normal working hours when the need arises.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
