We are looking for a Full-time/Contract employee for a Support Technician specialist.

Tier 2 technicians generally handle break/fix, configuration issues, troubleshooting, software installations, and hardware repair including in-house repair or coordinating 3rd party vendor services. They provide the second level of support to end users by handling service requests that have been escalated by lower tiers.Desktop Support staff provide a wide range of technical services for end users. The following is a list of the key roles and responsibilities for the desktop support staff:Support will be provided on-site, remotely, over the phone, or via email or chat• Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, repairs, upgrades, installs, moves, tests, & replaces software systems, hardware, & computer peripherals• Refer end user to self-service portal when applicable• Supports & maintains user account information including rights, security, & systems groups• Preparation of new desktops, laptops, & tablet computers, cellphones, desktop phones, hot spots, & printers for deployment, including unpacking devices, imaging workstations, & installing operating system clients & applications• On-site installation of new PCs & locally attached peripherals such as printers, desktop phones, monitors, & scanners• Delivery or coordination for pickup of cellphones, hot spots, & other peripherals• Relocation or replacement of PCs, peripherals, & desktop phones as required• Installation of additional applications as per user’s requirements• Provide service & preventive maintenance activities on terminals, printers, personal computers, etc.• Upgrade of PC hardware as required such as increase of memory or hard disk size• Recovery (if possible) of lost user’s data caused by hardware or software failures & user errors• Configuration & fine-tuning of existing applications on PCs such as internet browsers & office automation application settings• Utilizes knowledgebase, processes, & procedures documented in iHeat system• Full escalation process followed (even during on call)• Read & interpret technical manuals & instructions related to hardware & software• Reviews & recommends procurement of information technology equipment• Processes purchase orders as required; tracks orders, & investigates problems• Monitors & maintains current inventory levels• Records asset management activities (installs, moves, adds, & changes) in the ivanti iHeat ITAM system• Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory, & reconciles actual stock count to reports generated from ivanti iHeat ITAM asset management system• Prepares or assists in the preparation of documentation & reports• May be responsible for accessing data from & transferring data to various local, state, or federal databases• Shows awareness of standards & regulatory requirements related to assigned tasks
