- Able to dis-assemble / re-assemble notebooks, tablets, etc.
- Conducts visual mechanical inspection (VMI) of units, components (LCD, Motherboards, etc.) and/or subcomponents.
- Able to remove / replace components on motherboards.
- Deep knowledge of PC architecture chipsets, as well as good understanding of major components of notebook PCs (display, keyboard, touchpad, etc.)
- Excellent test equipment skills: DVM, oscilloscope, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.
- Able to use PCB artwork viewing utility to review PCB signal routing and component location.
- Completes component level trouble shooting (capacitor, resistors, etc.) and failure analysis (FA).
