System Engineer 2

Location: Austin, TX Salary: Depends on Experience Description: Our client is currently seeking an IT Systems Engineer 2whose primary role will be assisting in integrating legacy systems into our environment, planning, implementing and maintaining existing systems and infrastructure. Other duties include installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools and ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining backup and recovery requirements as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures
• Provide subject matter expertise in planning and designing a secure server infrastructure
• Gather requirements, design, test and implement compute and storage solutions for existing and new applications
• Provide expertise in assessing and implementing strategies for on-prem to cloud migration
• Ensure systems comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, security and HIPAA regulations and policies
• Monitor, administer and support all server and storage platforms
• Provide support for any problems associated with infrastructure resources and applications
• Assist in developing and architecting technology solutions as directed by management
• Properly document and maintain an inventory of all server systems Install, configure, and maintain server software and hardware Install and update security patches and version upgrades in a timely manner
• Replace failed hardware and address server systems problems
• Troubleshoot reported incidents and problems

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience
• Minimum of 8 years experience supporting a Windows server environment
• Must have advanced programming or scripting skills in Powershell or other scripting languages.
• Understanding of I.S. policies, procedures and management documentation Expert level knowledge and skills with Active Directory, Windows Server, VMWare, Pure storage, SCCM, and cloud-based solutions.
• 3 years' experience with Azure and/or AWS compute and storage
• 3 years' experience and solid understanding of storage, virtualization and cloud offerings
• 2 years' experience with O365 and on-prem to cloud migration
