Come be a part of our team!As a System Engineer II, you will provide system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of Cerner's solutions and services onsite at MCH. Perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability and perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization. Your role also includes implementing monitoring for applications and servers, and responding to alarms in a timely manner, preventing client impact and performance degradation. Also, deploy physical and virtual servers, complete assigned incident management tasks, and deploy, set up, and maintain testing environments. You will also provide tier III support per service request.Medical Center Hospital (MCH) has provided care to the Permian Basin for 70 years in the city of Odessa and surrounding counties. MCH has grown into a 402-bed Level II Trauma Center with over 2,500 employees and 350 physicians. The city offers a myriad of activities, mild four seasons, and a charming small-town feel close to many destinations.Qualifications Basic Qualifications- At least 6 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education including:
- At least 1 year of system administration and/or system engineering work experience
- At least 5 years additional work experience and/or higher education directly related to the duties of the job including:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience
- At least 1 year of experience as a system engineer
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare IT setting
- Must live in or around the Odessa, Texas area or near a virtual approved city (near a major airport)
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of the position
