Job Purpose:Texas Department of Public Safety requires the services of 1 Systems Analyst 1, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Systems Analyst 1, Applications/Software Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Department of Public Safety.Performs entry-level computer systems contingency and disaster recovery planning and analysis work. Work involves analyzing and identifying contingency and disaster recovery system requirements, procedures, and problems to document processes or to improve existing systems. Writes detailed description of contingency planning user needs, program functions, and steps required to recover develop computer programs or systems with Information Technology Subject Mater Experts. Reviews system capabilities, specifications, and limitations to determine if recovery program or program change is possible within existing system. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Minimum Requirements: ExperienceYearsRequired/Preffered 2RequiredExperience in systems analysis and design work.2RequiredAbility to analyze systems and procedures, to write and revise standards and procedures, and to communicate effectively.1RequiredSkill in solving problems; scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing programs; and troubleshooting computer systems1RequiredKnowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, the techniques used in the design of non-automated systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, computer hardware and software, computer operating systems1RequiredExperience preparing charts, diagrams, tables, and flowcharts to assist in problem analysis and submitting recommendations for solution.2PreferredExperience working in an IT technical operations or development environment with the creation and management of highly detailed actions, tasks, and schedules.1PreferredExperience supporting, planning and implementing contingency plans, recovery guides or disaster recovery documentation for information technology systems.
