Key job responsibilities
- Be part of the team that shapes the Automation future in Frontier
- Use and develop tools and process that collect and rationalize data from different sources
- Use and develop tools and frameworks to reduce our operations workload
- Participate in an on-call rotation with your team
- Lead and ensure on-time delivery of our expansions and region builds
- Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues with effective escalation of senior-level engineering teams
- Contribute to documentation, process and procedures
- Be involved in the formulation of a structured training
- Design and recommend optimization for service delivery and fleets
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a systems development engineer or in related occupations (systems administration, DevOps engineering, site reliability engineering, networking/automation, software/systems development)
- 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- Experience working with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Ruby
- Understanding of the building blocks of computer networks
- Ability to architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate tools and services with a security, scalability, and performance mindset.
- Experience building distributed systems or web services with a high degree of operational excellence
- Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with Azure.
- Experience with HashiCorp toolset.
- Experience with APM platforms, Dynatrace, Elastic, New Relic, etc.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
- Understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
- Ability to gather customer requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
