Key job responsibilities

  • Be part of the team that shapes the Automation future in Frontier
  • Use and develop tools and process that collect and rationalize data from different sources
  • Use and develop tools and frameworks to reduce our operations workload
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with your team
  • Lead and ensure on-time delivery of our expansions and region builds
  • Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues with effective escalation of senior-level engineering teams
  • Contribute to documentation, process and procedures
  • Be involved in the formulation of a structured training
  • Design and recommend optimization for service delivery and fleets
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a systems development engineer or in related occupations (systems administration, DevOps engineering, site reliability engineering, networking/automation, software/systems development)
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Ruby
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Understanding of the building blocks of computer networks
  • Ability to architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate tools and services with a security, scalability, and performance mindset.
  • Experience building distributed systems or web services with a high degree of operational excellence
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with Azure.
  • Experience with HashiCorp toolset.
  • Experience with APM platforms, Dynatrace, Elastic, New Relic, etc.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
  • Understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
  • Ability to gather customer requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
