Odyssey is working with a local company to find an experienced Systems Administrator to join their team on a direct-hire basis. This role will require you to work ONSITE daily in the East Plano area. The environment is heavy Windows and Azure, so you must be strong in those areas. This is a small-mid size environment, so someone that has been a "Jack of all trades" would be a great fit for this group and team.
Responsibilities:- Install and configure local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and network segments and Windows servers, such as file servers, VPN gateways, WAF, and intrusion detection systems.
- Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, and active directory administration.
- Secure system integrity from any breaches or viruses and play an essential role in risk-mitigation planning, including creating backup plans, safeguards for data, user security policies, and identity management.
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming requests with issues related to computer systems, software, hardware, and local networks
- Maintain daily performance and updates for computer systems
- Office 365 Administration
- Troubleshooting and Managing Windows Servers (2012, 2016,2019,2022)
- Design, organize, modify, and support an organization’s computer systems, including operating systems, business applications, security tools, web servers, email systems, and user hardware (laptops, PCs).
- BS/BA degree in a related field preferred.
- Strong experience in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network, and Security
- Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery, and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT or database administration
- Storage architecture including iSCSI, LUNs, NFS, and RAID.
- Scripting experience
- Troubleshooting OS, Exchange, and Office 365 using Windows PowerShell
- Strong networking including Dell, SonicWALL, Sophos Firewalls
- Domain Name registry/purchase and SSL certificate purchase/maintenance.
- Strong in Server systems architecture, performance, and tuning
- Strong in Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, and server hardware.
- VMWare, vSphere, ESXi, resource pools, VMFS, and virtual switching
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- SCCM, Intune, or other similar end-point management software
- IT Compliance, NIST, SOC2
- Knowledge of Security first methodology for IoT devices or end-point management
