A reputable, well-established CPA firm located in Albuquerque, NM is looking to hire a Tax Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in tax preparation, planning, and compliance. As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our clients' tax matters, providing guidance on tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes for clients.

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant statutes.

Provide expert advice and guidance on complex tax matters to clients and internal staff.

Review tax documents and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.

Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service.

Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing training and guidance as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required. We will consider someone who is sitting for the CPA exam currently.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, preferably in a CPA firm or similar environment.

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and their implications.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Ultra Tax software, MS Office Suite, and QuickBooks.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Supervisory experience preferred.
