Candidates with strong Experience in Agile & Scrum, DITA, Content Management System & Technical Publishing SME Role & Responsibilities (Duties to perform)

  • Agile Scrum Project Owner, business systems analyst, information architect, project manager, team lead, and QA lead.
  • Support Agile/Scrum team with publishing system road map, enterprise architecture, and set prioritization for methodical creation and testing of publishing system tools/conversations/translations/projects
  • Streamline resolution and time to production, eliminating impediments and bridging gaps to expedite delivery Oversee agile team's implementation of cloud-based DITA content pipeline to deliver Owners' Manuals for Print, Web, and Mobile devices
  • Information architect/Publishing System Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical project manager delivering robust and well-crafted solutions that are on time and on budget
  • Develop and implement practical and radical process improvements that employ industry best practices to architect and manage the development of new systems, integrating off-the-shelf tools with workflow automation, data conversion, interaction optimization, and analytics
  • Technical Publishing Subject Matter Expert (SME) that can provide an industry-leading vision to solving complex technical publishing issues including, but not limited to, authoring, conversion, translation, syndication, analytics, and maintenance/kaizen of complex content management system/CCMS (Component Content Management System)
  • Data-centric view to the way content is reused and repurposed both in and out of the organization, ensuring the quality and integrity of the content is not compromised as it is transformed and converted between systems, formats, media, and languages
  • Streamline human workflows and automating activities that computers can execute - ensuring technical accuracy in complex human tasks and reducing the need for human interaction
  • Streamline resolution and time to production, eliminating impediments and bridging gaps to expedite delivery
  • Design and maintain architecture of content publishing systems for automotive service information including but not limited to repair manuals, body repair manuals, Technical Service bulletins, Owners Manuals, Owners Guides
  • Build tools/system to automatically take existing documents (created externally) and extract and/or add selected content to create new type/variation of document and publish
  • Develop publishing tools that work with machine translation systems including edits to copy inside line art or other part/system/engineering document that can add/inject local market/additional content while still accepting updated/edited content from upstream consumers and successfully manage version control automatically o Leverage machine translation system to maximize translated content across documents in all markets
  • Maintain and develop/modify as needed document version control in complex system with edits constantly coming in from various sources ensuring only latest version is displayed to users
  • Maximize time and budget efficiencies without impacting quality of publishing tools and technical information
  • Ensure data integrity is maintained across the content conversion and syndication pipeline
  • Interface with Business and IT stakeholders to prioritize improvements and ensure the system goals and objectives are achieved o Engage workforce at all levels to gain commitment and understanding of the business change required to achieve goals and objectives both at TMNA and other organizations
  • Expand and improve relationships across departments/organizations
  • Strategically affect positive change AND sustain it
  • Drive a problem-solving rather than a problem-identifying approach
  • Take on and own other assignments/duties and ad hoc projects as required
  • Ability to work late night/early morning hours and weekends to support IT builds/SSC activity approximately 25% of the time (subject to change based on business needs)

Requirement: Education/Qualification and Experience
  • BS/MS in Computer Science/ Engineering / Law, excellent academic record required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5-10 years business experience with publishing/documents/content management systems in legal, automotive, aerospace, medical, electronics, or other progressive field where attention to detail and version control are paramount
  • Experience integrating publishing tools with machine translation systems including edits to copy inside line art or other part/system/engineering documents
  • Experience in working with tools like Arbortext, DITA, structured documentation such as XML and SGML, Adobe FrameMaker (structured/unstructured), Editor, and MS office. o Experience building, implementing, and supporting medium to large scale publishing systems
  • Experience streamlining human workflows and automating activities that computers can execute - ensuring technical accuracy in complex human tasks and reducing the need for human interaction
  • Experience designing and maintaining architecture of content publishing systems for automotive service information including but not limited to Repair Manuals, Body Repair Manuals, Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Technical Service bulletins, Owners Manuals, Owners Guides o Experience building tools/systems to automatically take existing documents (created externally) and extract and/or add selected content to create new type/variation of document and publish o Experience designing and maintaining complex content management system/CCMS (Component Content Management System)
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and Flexibility to work in a team environment but also capable of working independently
