Job Title: Vessel FitterJob DescriptionLarge steel fabricator of vessels and heat exchangers has an immediate opening for a vessel fitter. Responsibilities include taking blueprints and drawings to layout and fit up fabricated parts to vessel shell, layout vessels, layout shells, take offs, burn shells, and fit nozzles and internals. The role involves fitting carbon steel ranging from 1/4" to 2" thick and passing fit up inspections with minimal oversight.Requirements

5+ years fabrication experience

3+ years vessel fitting experience

Ability to read blueprints, isometric drawings (ISOs), piping and instrumentation diagrams/drawings (P&ID's), or schematics (pipe/fabrication)

Proficient in using industrial hand tools to layout and fit up material

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 600 Hour(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Houston, Texas.Work EnvironmentMedium sized vessel shop. Non A/C, open air shop environment. Working in and around large vessels and heat exchangers. Team consists of around 20 employees on days, mix of welders, fitters, and fabrication helpers. Night shift has 8 people. Safety is a large focus. Report to lead man. Day shift, Mon-Fri is 7:00am-5:00pm. If they work Saturdays, then it's 7:00am-4:00pm. Regular schedule includes 4 10-hour days Mon-Thurs and a 9-hour day on Friday, totaling 49 hours per week. As work picks up and Saturdays are added, the total will be 58 hours.
