Position: Wi-Fi / BT connectivity Engineer

Location: Plano, TX

Duration: 6-12+ Months Contract

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for solving connectivity issues of vehicle multimedia focused on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi External functions.
  • Diagnose & Report and track Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi issues as well as communicate improvement opportunities to internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate and manage Tier 1 suppliers on head unit software fixes.
  • Enhance existing test cases to detect the new defect.
  • In-vehicle and lab testing responsibility. Feature/services using Bluetooth technology such as, but not limited to, handsfree calling, phone book download audio streaming features/services using external Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Issue reproduction in the vehicle and/or in a lab environment.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standup, sprint planning, sprint refinement, and sprint demo.
  • Flexibility with off-hour work (as required).

Minimum requirements, skills, and experience
  • 2 – 5 years of testing experience working with connectivity system functions such as Bluetooth, Wifi, Android Auto, and Apple Carplay.
  • 3 years of experience in Bluetooth testing
    • Experience with taking logs with BT sniffer and Wifi Sniffer
    • Experience reading logs with BT sniffer and WiFi Sniffer
  • Deep Understanding of overall BT technology including protocols (eg HFP vs AD2P vs BLE GATT) and Wifi standards
  • Understand CarPlay and Android Auto Technology
  • Demonstrated Problem Solving skills (root cause analysis). Ability to articulate and dissect complex issues in a simple and meaningful format.
  • Ability to diagnose and isolate software/hardware failures at the component level.
  • Evaluation experience with Multimedia and Phone (able to create test cases from Spec).
  • Fundamental knowledge of vehicle electronics with infotainment systems.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment including multiple parties such as team members, business partners, and external suppliers.
