This role requires expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, kitchen equipment, and safety training. Preferred qualifications include the ability to read blueprints and schematics, as well as basic troubleshooting skills. The ADOE provides technical and administrative support to the property and regularly updates the Director of Engineering on daily operational activities within the Engineering Department.Responsibilities:

Act as the primary technical liaison for all departments within the property.

Assist in planning, scheduling, and evaluating effective preventative maintenance programs.

Demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills, maintaining professionalism in administrative and interpersonal interactions. Uphold a guest-focused, team-oriented approach with a positive attitude.

Supervise day-to-day engineering operations and assume a leadership role in the absence of the Director of Engineering.

Coordinate and oversee the implementation of CMMS preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, mechanical equipment, and safety systems. Ensure comprehensive documentation, record-keeping, and scheduling.

Assist in maintaining grounds, meeting rooms, public spaces, kitchens, and food & beverage outlets.

Recommend or arrange additional services such as painting, repairs, or equipment replacements as needed.

Ensure compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards, and procedures.

Manage staffing levels to meet guest service, operational, and financial objectives.

Ensure regulatory compliance with facility regulations and safety standards, proficiently managing Occupational Health and Safety Standards and mandated programs (e.g., Lock Out Tag Out, Legionella, Moisture Control).

Manage inventory of parts and supplies, including processing purchase orders within Hyatt’s systems.

Possess comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical systems, chilled and condenser water components, boilers, electrical distribution, plumbing, and drainage systems.

Oversee all building mechanical systems, including building automation (BMS), and manage energy and water consumption effectively.

Maintain a thorough understanding and monitor the hotel’s fire alarm system, emergency evacuation procedures, and disaster recovery protocols.

Recruit and develop Engineering colleagues while ensuring alignment with guest service, operational needs, and financial goals.

Focus on enhancing efficiency, profitability, and service levels, guiding colleagues to embody Hyatt’s Culture of Care and Values.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; degree in Engineering/Facility Maintenance preferred.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or related professional field with training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing.

At least 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role in hotel/resort maintenance preferred.

Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment and effectively engage with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

Strong communication skills.

Must possess strong organizational and computer skills, particularly in Excel and Microsoft Business Suite.

Familiarity with HOTSOS and EMaint CMMS systems preferred.

Physical requirements include frequent sitting, desk-based computer work, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling objects up to 40 pounds, kneeling, crawling, climbing (ladders, scaffolds), reaching, working above shoulders, forceful grasping, handwriting, and sorting/filing paperwork or parts.
