Growing together.This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift (10:30pm – 7:00pm CST). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and/or weekends.All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

Manages clinical intake for authorization appeals and determinations

Handles incoming communication via email, fax, or company portal

Processes appeal information and manages appeal notifications for clinical team

Provides accurate case information and updates member's profile accordingly

Handles outbound delivery of authorization and appeal denials to providers and/or members via email, fax, or phone.

This is high volume, customer service environment. You’ll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

1+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (ability to create, edit, save and send documents and spreadsheets)

Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance

A clerical or administrative support background

Experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid Services

Call center experience

Experience working in a metric-driven work environment

Telecommuting Requirements:

Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Soft Skills:

Must be able to type and talk at the same time and navigate through multiple screens
