Cake Decorator

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Baker and Decorator to join our dynamic, fast paced, fun team. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in a real bakery setting with baking and decorating cakes, danishes and pastries from scratch. Will not consider experience baking at home.

This role requires a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to create visually appealing baked products that meet customer specifications. A good person for this position is well organized and meticulous at following recipes. Typical bakery shifts run from 6:00 or 7:00 AM to 3:00 or 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities

Must be able to follow recipes for preparation and mixing of cake batters, icings, and fillings as needed.

Decorate, assemble, fill and finish cakes, tarts, pastries and pies according to specifications.

Utilize various decorating techniques, including piping.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating area, adhering to food safety standards.

Package finished products for display or delivery while ensuring they are presented attractively.

Requirements

Proven experience in cake decorating and baking in a bakery setting is a must.

Creativity and artistic skills in cake design are highly valued.

Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills, including piping techniques and the ability to create decorative flowers and borders.

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.

Proficient in using kitchen tools such as knives and decorating equipment.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Typically 6 days a week work schedule.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Experience

Previous and proven work or baking experience in a bakery setting.

Previous experience decorating, assembling, filling and finishing cakes, tarts and pastries.

Exhibit a passion for collaborating, knowledge sharing and working with team mates.

ServSafe training and/or certification.
