Diesel Mechanic (Field Technician)

Description:We are looking to bring on 2 Field Tech Diesel Mechanics to join our awesome maintenance team. Candidates will perform maintenance on Heavy Construction Equipment. The ideal candidate will have an extended knowledge and experience in Diesel engines and diagnostics of engines, conveyor belts on pavers, braking, electrical and air-hydraulic systems. Must be able to trouble-shoot a wide variety of repairs quickly at times so services can continue. Candidates will be trained on specialized equipment. They are open to more entry level candidates as well.During the summer months Mechanics will meet the crew here in Salt Lake and drive the mechanics truck and follow the rest of the crew to the job site. Job siteswill be in UT, ID, WI, NV, and possibly South Dakota & North Dakota. The job sites will be determined in advanced by the Superintendent.Winter Season: November - March/early AprilSchedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:00pm 40 hour work week.During the winter season the mechanics will be working in the shop.Summer Season: April - late October/NovemberSchedule: They will be away from home at the job site anywhere from 2 - 2.5 weeks at a time.6:00am - When it gets dark; 45-65 hours a week. $60 per diem including hotel. They will have to share a room. If the candidate insists on their ownroom they will work with them on that. It is possible they make their Per Diem $30 a day. That is negotiable.Off Season: They let their employees go during the month of December.
