Position Summary
This position is responsible for repairs, maintenance, basic physical maintenance and other related duties.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Performs basic biomed repairs (i.e. IV pumps, centrifuges, weight scales, electrical tests, etc.), demonstrating the appropriate level of skill and knowledge.
Grounds maintenance duties are accomplished as assigned, meeting quality standards (i.e.lawn and plant care, irrigation system operation and maintenance, snow and ice removal, etc.)
Does general electrical repairs (i.e. light switches, ballasts, receptacles, etc.). Work meets applicable safety and quality standards.
Services maintenance equipment as required (i.e. mowers, trucks, tractors, etc.), meeting time and quality standards and expectations.
Perform and assist other tradesmen in the accomplishment of complex mechanical and electrical projects.
Does basic plant maintenance (i.e. changes lights, repairs plumbing fixtures, unclogs drains, changes filters, etc.), demonstrating the appropriate level of skill and knowledge. Work meets quality expectations and is completed in appropriate time frames.
Perform repair on plumbing and electrical systems as needed.
Does basic construction (i.e. painting, shelving, plumbing, etc.). Quality and skill are appropriately demonstrated in the work.
Reports safety hazards as appropriate
Inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, and repairs or replaces equipment components.
Assists hospital employees, visitors, and patients with miscellaneous services pertaining to security, i.e., lost and found, vehicle assistance, help with combative patients, and other hospitalemergencies.
Possess the ability and motivation to work unsupervised and consistently complete all of the tasks assigned in a qualitymanner.
Possesstheabilitytooperate,maintain,andminorrepairsthevariousfacilitysystems(i.e.,airhandlingunits, boilers, hot water heaters, plumbing and electrical distribution systems, nurse call equipment, etc.) in a manner conducive to the standards set to maintain the hospital in top qualitycondition.
Assist with cleanup of trash, water, chemical, and oil spills in accordance with established policy and procedures.
Assist with fire drills, disaster drills, and response as needed in accordance with established policy and procedure.
Assist with material/supply deliveries and inventory control procedures.
Exhibitanacceptableskilllevelinidentifyingproblemtroubleshootingsituations,affectingrepairs,and communicating status as required.
Minimum Education:High School DiplomaMust be able to obtain BLS within 60 day of hire and maintainMust have Driver's License and a good driving record.Journeyman experience is preferredFull benefits package
