Performs administrative tasks to support graduate students. Activities include, but not limited to, record-keeping, program of study coordination, scheduling, course-planning, student progression, graduation tracking.
May serve as point of contact for graduate admissions decisions.
Actively participates in campus-based professional development communities, including but not limited to GAPA or other relevant campus-based organizations that directly impact their position. Duties include sub-committee chair/participation.
Collects and disseminates information to students, faculty and departments about changes in degree requirements or University policies and adjusts advising strategies as appropriate.
May chair or participate in search committees for new hires in department, including both staff and faculty roles.
Participates in programming communities for students within their area. Including, but not limited to activities such as overseeing a mentoring program, student organization, etc.
Advises on graduate committee development. May assign course work for specific program of study and participate in course planning.
Provides curriculum feedback at the program level. May submit department curriculum changes to university-wide curriculum tracking.
May serve on University committees and makes recommendations that affect curriculum requirements, advising processes and program development and published materials.
Participates in recruitment activities for potential graduate student candidates. Processes graduate school applications and coordinates with graduate committees with any interview processes.
Assists students with developing a working relationship with faculty in the assigned program.
Coordinate and plan events management related to graduate programs, graduate student orientation, graduate conferences, and professional development events.
With extensive institutional knowledge, acts as a resource for graduate student roles and is a liaison between the department and the Graduate School on campus. Interprets policies set by the Graduate School to meet the unique needs of the academic program or unit.
Coordinate tutoring matches with PharmD students and track success of tutoring program.
Use survey tools like Qualtrics and Town Halls, for example, to assess student feedback and success of program initiatives.
Coordinates with administration to identify issues with student wellness and mental health.
