This is a contract with a great organization. As a contractor for Smith Johnson, you are eligible for medical, dental, life, disability and a matching retirement plan. Smith Johnson pays for 70% of your medical and dental and 100% of life and disability. The contract also includes 16 hours for PTO accrued a month. You are also eligible for a matching 3% retirement. Smith Johnson believes in taking care of our contractors.

PURPOSEHRIS Data Analyst with a passion for data and its value to the organization’s success. Part of the Human Resource team working with Finance and IT departments to support the use of a cloud human capital management, timekeeping and payroll system.Works independently to ensure quality reporting results, perform root-cause analysis of data issues, explore and help implement solutions for data management, data insight and security. Collaborates with other HRIS specialists, process owners, product managers, service providers and data consumers to ensure data is protected and supporting the business effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 30-50% Enhance or build reporting objects to support HR department objectives, activities or data initiatives within HCM or from legacy systems. Test reporting objects for complete and quality results; respond to ad-hoc data requests. Evaluate impacts on reports and security configuration resulting from upgrades, system patches and adjusted functional configuration; other data team projects, as assigned.
  • 20-30% Data integrity validation checks, data clean-up coordination, front-line data issue triage, investigation and root-cause analysis, solutioning. Security design and configuration validations within reporting.
  • 20-30% Collaborate and act with other HRIS analysts and development teams, data producers, business consumers and other HR data team members to plan for a successful implementation and adoption of reporting tools.
  • 10-20% Workforce training and documentation, including: document data flow, business rules, reporting procedures, data dictionary; develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation regarding data access, data management and reporting; technical configuration documentation for functional or data security configuration, security request procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Reporting software experience – demonstrated design principles, report organization using Tableau; PowerBI, cloud-based HRIS reporting a plus, including Oracle HCM or OTBI
  • Database and query experience – familiarity with database structures, data architecture, tables, fields, complex keys; able to interpret SQL statements with expressions, joins, unions.
  • Moderate to advanced Excel skills
  • Innovative – finding simple and inspired ways to solve business needs
  • Self-motivated and directed with the ability to work independently
  • Problem solving skills and analytical skills to root out core issues to problems
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous responsibilities, sometimes with competing priority and urgency
  • Must have attention to detail and exhibit a high degree of accuracy and organization
  • Must be a team player, proactively seeking out ways to help fellow teammates
  • Must exercise judgement and care with handling highly confidential materials and information
  • Having a working knowledge of Human Resources functional areas or HRIS is a plus
