SUMMARY:
Our client, a leader in oil/gas software has an immediate need for a Junior System Administrator located in Orem, UT. The Junior System Administrator is an entry-level IT professional who will help keep computer systems running smoothly. The successful candidate will work with more senior members of the team to install and maintain software, hardware, and other digital tools, and will be responsible for monitoring the performance of workstations and virtual desktops. This includes ensuring that all hardware is functioning properly, identifying any potential security threats, and resolving issues that arise as quickly as possible. What You Will Do:- Administer Endpoint Management Solution
- Administer workstation patching
- Administer printing solution
- Resolve workstation vulnerabilities detected in security scans
- Monitor system and network performance
- Assist with Desktop Support/Tier 3
- Assist in managing virtual desktop infrastructure
- Assist with other IT Infrastructure tasks and projects
- High school diploma/GED is required
- Immigration sponsorship not available for this role
- 2+ years proven experience in a Jr. System Administrator or Desktop Engineering role
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Experience with Endpoint Management
- Experience creating and deploying workstation Operating System images
- Familiarity with various operating systems
- Basic/Intermediate knowledge of patch management and software distribution
- Basic/Intermediate knowledge of network troubleshooting Ethernet and IP configuration
- Proficiency in Microsoft support tools, such as DNS, storage, and networking
- General knowledge of system security
- Actively working towards professional certifications such as the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA)
- Basic knowledge of Linux.
- Must be an excellent troubleshooter
- Willing to help on projects that may seem out of scope for the job
