Northrop Grumman's Global Operations Security organization is seeking a IT Network Engineer primarily supporting the Magna, UT location, with secondary support of Clearfield and Promontory, UT. On call, after hours rotation will be required for specific areas of responsibility.

The selected candidate will maintain smooth operation of local area, world wide and virtual private networks (VPN). He/she will plan, evaluate, and coordinate the installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network. Additionally, maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  • May design network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.
  • Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
  • Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and 7 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience OR Master's degree and 3 years of experience; 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, load-balancers, and firewalls.
  • Experience performing network forensics.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cisco certification
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
  • Experience with F-5, Palo Alto Networks, VMware is a plus.
  • Experience with BGP, OSPF and DNS.
  • Experience with MS PowerPoint and Visio to transform complex technical information into high-level, concise and clear presentations.
  • Experience in project management.

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
