Rate of Pay: $52,000-$58,240/year

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Scope of Position/Essential Functions:

The Social Services Director provides direction and oversight of the Social Service Department which serves Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. This position supervises departmental staff and interns, and the daily social service operations. The role involves developing, evaluating and reporting on social service programs as well as providing direct service to clients.

Alongside the Corps Officers, the Social Service Director will monitor program budgets and revenue, ensure timely reporting of grants, and collaborate with the Grant and Community Development Manager in sourcing new funding opportunities. At times, the Social Service Director will also be asked to network with community partners and outside organizations as The Salvation Army's representative.Specific Functions:

Oversee the Social Services Programs

Provide direction and supervision of Social Services Department in Salt Lake City.

Maintain knowledge of current and future social service trends and assist The Salvation Army in the development and improvement of social services programs.

Become fluent in the use of The Salvation Army's social services database software.

Develop and apply outcome measures and measurement tools to social service programming.

Monitor social service budget, including grant funding.

Complete paperwork and fund reports in an accurate and timely manner

Manage Daily Social Services Operations

Make decisions as to the day-to-day effective operation of services and case management.

Provide leadership and training to the social service staff in terms of standards and best-practices

As needed, provide client assistance - Interview clients and assess needs, make eligibility decisions, document as required and needed.

Support implementation of The Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope initiative.

Supervise Internships

Assess need and potential impact of intern placements and create a plan for utilizing internships within Salt Lake City.

Recruit and interview prospective interns for placement.

Provide required academic supervision of the interns' experience.
