As a Senior Software Engineer at CHG, you will design, develop, and maintain the unique software systems that connect healthcare clients and providers, protect sensitive information, fulfill all regulatory requirements, and ensure that financial accounting systems are secure. Our services team is integral in helping to streamline the credentialing process.

We're looking for an engineer who is passionate about data. The ideal candidate will be able to look at the variety of ways data is being ingested into the systems and work to find efficiencies in these processes. They will be able to find ways to improve the overall quality of the data so that it can be used in our applications, APIs, and generated reports. The Engineer will collaborate with business partners and product leadership to understand needs, and works closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Principal Engineers, and Engineering leadership to implement solutions in accordance with industry best practices.

Your role:

  • Develop API services and utilize tools in order to streamline existing data ingestion processes
  • Expand existing data reporting tooling so that clients can query their data in a more via self-service manner
  • Work with other engineering teams to ensure data in our OneView platform is high quality
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team with a goal for continuous improvement and consistently apply best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business analysts, product managers, UI/UX designers and other engineers to come up with the best solutions for users
  • Communicate effectively in a remote working environment, including with offshore team members
  • Help the team stay focused on meeting commitments with high quality
  • Develop high-quality software following solid architecture design, engineering best-practices and defined software development methodologies
  • Apply good test-driven development principles to drive high-quality software
  • Build to high-quality, being prepared at the time of pull request with automated contract, unit, integration, and functional tests to "prove out" and validate your code
  • Participate in the code review process to ensure code quality and for personal growth (learn from team member's suggestions and apply in practice)
  • Participate in technical refinements to efficiently breakdown Epics/Stories into executable tasks (including targeting thin vertical slices)

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Javascript/NodeJS development experience/knowledge
  • Experience designing, building, and testing microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency in working with relational and non-relational databases and reading/writing SQL
  • Experience designing data sources that enable fast product scaling and efficient feature development
  • Experience with build management tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, etc.).
  • Experience working with Kafka a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with other team members such as project managers, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts.
  • Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills
