Fleet Mechanic

Barrett Trucking Co. Inc, in Burlington, VT and Middlesex, VT is seeking a mechanic with proven experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment and heavy-duty trucks. Duties will include all aspects of equipment and truck maintenance and repairs. Work will be performed mostly in a shop setting with a few rare field calls. Some shop tools are available but prefer that you supply your own.

Technical skills should include a practical knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, diesel mechanics, drive train suspensions, and braking system. A valid Driver’s license is required. Applicant will be required to lift objects in excess of 50lbs and be willing to work outside if necessary.

Applicant should have the ability to work unsupervised and also should work well with others. Good problem-solving skills, good communication skills, and attention to detail are essential. The applicant should also be organized, neat, and professional.

Pay: $26.00 – $35.00 per hour. Pay scale is based on experience

Experience:

Heavy duty mechanic experience (preferred)

Willing to train the right candidate.

Willing to consider graduate from a diesel technical school.
