Through supportive, collaborative, and rigorous learning experiences, we develop educators with solid foundations in student-centered, inquiry-based, and culturally-sustaining pedagogy.This position would include teaching core courses and providing field supervision in the undergraduate and Masters of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education programs. Courses in the program are delivered in hybrid and in-person modalities.TEACHING Courses include a focus on curriculum, instruction, and assessment.SUPERVISION Supervision of practicum and student teaching internships at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be focused on grades 7-12 in both middle level and high school settings.QUALIFICATIONS :REQUIRED
A master’s degree or higher in the field of education.
A minimum of 3 years teaching in grades 7-12 schools.
Current knowledge of research-based/evidence-based instructional practices.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice and/or experience working in schools with diverse child and family populations.
Evidence of collaborative relationships with colleagues, peers, and field-based partners.
DESIRABLE
Successful demonstration of post-secondary teaching experience in higher-education settings.
Demonstrated commitment to field-based training of education professionals.
Experience in partnership models for preparing pre-service educators.
Interest and skill in leadership work related to program coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Teaching, supervising, and advising undergraduate and graduate students in the Secondary Education program.
Successful experience supervising or mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate pre-services teachers in school placements.
Collaborating with university faculty and field partners in public schools.
Service within the program, department, college, university, and profession (e.g., state, national, international organizations).
Participating in state and national accreditation initiatives.
Advising.
Student recruitment.
