Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant in Chesapeake, Virginia. In this role, you'll be working in a dynamic environment, handling a multitude of accounting tasks, supporting business operations, and ensuring financial compliance. Responsibilities: Organize files and review bills on a daily basis Perform a full range of accounting tasks, including managing accounts receivable and payable Reconcile the general ledger regularly and provide details for internal audits Assist in the processing of customer orders for our products Maintain up-to-date accounts payable and receivable, including generating and sending out invoices, ensuring timely payments from customers, and making timely payments to vendors Prepare and send bank reconciliation, financial statements, and all other reports in a timely manner Collaborate closely with foreign teams on all financial and operational matters Liaise with tax agents for tax submissions and ensure compliance with all state and federal tax regulations and adherence to US GAAP Facilitate and assist with annual audits Prepare purchase orders and schedule incoming shipments to the warehouse Maintain constant communication with the business manager and prepare sales orders, packing lists, and invoices Schedule outgoing shipments with the warehouse and freight carriers Handle office administration duties, including payroll processing. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 3 years' experience in an accounting role Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Functions Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Expertise in Auditing procedures Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with managing the General Ledger Proficiency in using QuickBooks accounting software Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Must be legally eligible to work in the specified location.
