Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the automotive industry in Richmond, Virginia. The role involves handling customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries in a diligent and efficient manner. The specialist will also monitor customer accounts and take necessary action.Responsibilities Handle customer inquiries and provide solutions promptly Keep track of customer accounts and engage in appropriate action when necessary Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency Maintain and update vendor profile data, transactions, and account balances Research invoice issues, payment statuses, and vendor inquiries Provide customer service support to internal and external customers on vendor setup, terms, payment method options, payment status, and resolution of discrepancies Perform basic accounting functions to ensure accuracy of vendor profile data, transactions, and account balances Share knowledge with the team, stabilize new processes, and maintain documentation Act as a subject matter expert for business initiatives, contribute ideas for process improvements, validate standard work, and update training manuals Support special projects as needed. Requirements Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP) within the Automotive industry Exceptional customer service skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel Ability to handle high volume invoice processing Strong understanding of general ledger coding Familiarity with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Understanding of basic accounting principles Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
