Air Traffic Flow Management Specialist- ATFMS (Warrenton, VA) Air Traffic Flow Management Specialist- ATFMS Location: Warrenton, VA Duties to be performed: Responsible for tactical, strategic, and administrative support of multiple program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, operational automation, military operations, CARF, space operations, Plan Execute Review Train and Improve (PERTI), special and security operations, safety management system, safety reporting, contingency and other areas of specialty identified collaboratively at the national level. Must be familiar with TFMS, TBFM, National Weather Service products, along with other Traffic management systems. Serves as a consultant on all issues immediately affecting ATO facility operations and provides rapid responses to all operationally related inquiries and real time issues. The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the Air Traffic Control field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis, evaluation, training and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Specialist must be knowledgeable of FAA agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Maintains real-time awareness on National Airspace System status (OIS, Weather products, TMI, Planning TELCONS, etc.) Aid and advise FAA Command Center facility management staff on real-time and post operational issues. Collaborates with all other team elements to provide timely, clear, and concise information needed for effective management. Assists Command Center facility personnel with complex decision making in analyzing and resolving real-time and post ATC operational issues. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. Hardware/software experience is desirable. Qualifications: For the assigned Facility/Duty Location: 1. Performs daily functions of maintaining and or improving operational material and or resources within the assigned area(s) of specialty. 2. Communicates well as among various lines of business, industry and stakeholders. 3. Makes recommendations for training/new projects/studies, taking into account available resources and the accomplishment of goals and objectives. 4. Applies expertise toward the completion of training/projects/studies and reports. 5. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of equipment, facilities, and procedures. 6. Conducts investigations, evaluations, analytics, write reports/presentations, briefs support office as directed. 7. Develops methods to improve customer service and the quality of support provided. 8. As directed collaborates freely among stakeholders, key personnel, facilities, provides feedback and consults with other Staff Support Specialists and key personnel regardless of duty location. Some/all telework may be available depending on the requirements of the duties of the support office and s ome travel may be required .
