Job Summary: Responsible for HR Systems Applications database configuration software installations upgrades and technical support. Maintains an efficient application environment for developers quality assurance associates and end-users. Position may require travel.

Duties and Responsibilities: Incumbents of this position must be U.S. Citizens - Assists DBAs in database configuration specific to HR Systems/Applications requirements and maintaining data consistency, integrity and performance. - Coordinates and installs HR Systems/Applications software and database upgrades. - Works with team members (technical and functional) to meet objectives; maintains communication with team members and team leader. - Provides technical guidance and support to application developers. - Troubleshoots application problems and coordinates resolution of problems with other support groups. - Monitors and maintains the security, integrity, consistency and performance of the HR Systems/Applications databases. - Serves as the Primary Point of Contact (POC) between DBAs and system administration for application functionality questions. Primary POC for migration of any application related source code from development to test to production. - Ensure/implement the rigorous application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of Systems, Applications and/or Services (Hardware & Software). - Position may require travel. - Performs other related duties as assigned. Skill Requirements: - Knowledge of database management tools/concepts (e.g., relational databases, flat files) - Proficient in using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Oracle SQLPlus, PeopleSoft Security - Ability to maintain and test HR Systems/Applicationss in accordance with information resource management standards and procedures. - Human Resource functional knowledge a plus - Required to maintain PeopleSoft technical proficiency. - Proficient in using PeopleSoft Upgrade process to migrate projects. - Proficient in moving data across platforms (e.g., file transfers, uploads, downloads) - Proficient in applying fixes and patches supplied by PeopleSoft - Proficient in configuration and installation of application server software Information Assurance Workforce Certifications (IAM1 jobs): SECNAV M-5239.2, DoN, Information Assurance (IA) Workforce Manual requires incumbents of this position to possess, and maintain current, one of the following Certifications: GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Security , or one of the following higher level certifications: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), NEXCOM preferred certification is Security Candidates without the required certification may be placed into this job, but must obtain the required certification within 6 months of appointment; failure to obtain this requirement will result in termination of employment. This position is designated IT-2 (Non-critical Sensitive) in accordance with SECNAV M-5510.30 and will require a favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI).Qualified candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience in administrative, technical or investigative work which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes required to perform technical, managerial or analytical work involving management information systems.

OR

SUBSTITUTION OF EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 3 years of progressive experience in the following: Business and systems design and implementation. Developing effective functional knowledge of enterprise applications. Facilitating and developing business and system functional requirements. Developing and executing a comprehensive test plan. HR Systems/Applications

Information Assurance Workforce Certifications (IAM1 jobs): SECNAV M-5239.2, DoN, Information Assurance (IA) Workforce Manual requires incumbents of this position to possess, and maintain current, one of the following Certifications: GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Security , or one of the following higher level certifications: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), NEXCOM preferred certification is Security Candidates without the required certification may be placed into this job, but must obtain the required certification within 6 months of appointment; failure to obtain this requirement will result in termination of employment.
