About the Opportunity

Our National IT Cloud and Solution Architecture is looking for an Application Monitoring Advisor with hands-on experience in automation and scripting to join their team.

As the Application Monitoring Advisor, you will perform day-to-day performance engineering activities in support of the Federal Reserve System and be responsible for implementing an Enterprise class application and OS monitoring solution in both on-prem and cloud environments.

You will research and analyze technical data and issues to develop recommendations and solutions related to technical operations, and provide guidance in identifying, evaluating and developing processes and effective procedures that meet requirements. You will also provide reporting and analysis to assist in executing solutions and may provide consultation to clients, colleagues and management.

Additionally, you will develop conceptual, logical and physical IT engineering designs that support the infrastructure requirements of technical and business application projects, complete analysis of business requirements related to technical infrastructure design, assess testing requirements, prepares testing strategies, and prepare implementation and transition plans.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform analysis of business issues utilizing established methodology and tools.
  • Work with clients and other resources to assess current capabilities, identify the customer needs and assist in recommending process improvements.
  • Provide basic support and collaboration in completing analysis, providing ad-hoc reports, information or process mapping, and/or alignment of the business and related resources.
  • Contribute to process improvement and solution discussions and may contribute some outcomes to management.
  • Assist in the development and design of new business processes and updating existing business processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects within technology areas.

Qualifications:
  • Generally requires a minimum of 1 to 3 years of application development or infrastructure performance experience.
  • Web technologies (e.g. WebSphere, Apache etc).
  • Experience with Dynatrace AppMon, Dynatrace Enterprise, App Dynamics, and log monitoring solutions
  • WebSphere MQ, Kafka messaging system, NoSQL databases (Mongo, Aerospike)
  • Experience in performance managing AWS (EC2, ECS and Lambda) infrastructure
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible)
  • Hands-on experience in automation and scripting for parsing logs in a cloud environment
  • Experience in Python or other programming/scripting languages.
