About the Opportunity

The National IT Architecture and Design Engineering team has an immediate opening for two Architects to provide support for architecture and design activities across the Federal Reserve System. In this role, you will work with business areas to develop solution and target architectures; provide guidance on cloud migrations; and provide architecture leadership for solution development.

What You Will Do:
  • Document current and future-state Business Line needs, and translate them into underlying IT Capabilities
  • Designs varying levels of complex frameworks to support system-wide technical and business architecture requirements.
  • Identify cross-business and enterprise-wide opportunities for common technology solutions.
  • Develop solution architecture blueprints and engineering designs for large projects or programs
  • Develop frameworks, patterns, and processes to facilitate the migration of applications and data environments to cloud environments
  • Serve as a hands-on lead or technical expert to project teams.
  • Provide strategic foresight and long-term development planning for future technology adoption

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or software engineering
  • 3-5 years of software development experience
  • 1 or more years of experience performing in an architecture role
  • One of more cloud certifications from AWS, Azure or Google
  • Demonstrated expertise with IT solution delivery in the cloud, including serving as an architect, engineer or technical lead working on design, implementation, and operations for distributed applications.
  • Experience with Agile Development and Practices
  • Understanding of API, SOA, or microservice concepts, design patterns and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to drive issue resolution
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills; ability to facilitate discussions around complex issues and bring them to resolution
  • Excellent leadership skills and abilities
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a large, geographically distributed work environment.
  • Ability to work independently in an environment with some ambiguity.

  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual's knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications/experience.

The hiring ranges for this position are:
  • Experienced: 94,600 - 130,130
  • Senior: 110,300 - 151,690
  • This is a National range; certain locations/states ranges may vary.
