The Asset Analyst is responsible for managing the lifecycle of assets within the program, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, disposal and utilization of government furnished software. They work closely with the program team, CMS, and the Hybrid Cloud application teams to ensure software and hardware assets procured are leveraged appropriately, compliance requirements are met, and costs are minimized. The Asset Analyst will support development and maintenance policies, processes, a procedures for asset management.Program Overview: GDIT is seeking professionals to support the CMS Cloud team in delivering brokerage services for infrastructure teams including the following: Cloud services from CSPs includes Microsoft Azure Government (MAG) and Amazon Web Services (AWS); Equinix data center leased space; hardware; Software; OEM professional services; and asset and financial management services. Our product-driven team works directly with CMS and their Hybrid Cloud application teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective cloud & product use. Our team is responsible for financial management tools CMS application developers use to optimize and manage their cloud applications. Successful candidates are eager to take the initiative on a large Cloud resell program where optimization and attention to detail is crucial.HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Manage lifecycle of software assets, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.

Optimize software licenses to minimize costs while ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.

Develop and maintain policies, processes, and procedures for software asset management.

Conduct software license compliance assessments and audits to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.

Maintain an accurate inventory and utilization of software assets and ensure that it is up-to-date and accurate.

Develop and maintain relationships with software vendors and negotiate license agreements.

Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on software asset management best practices.

Ensure that software assets are properly secured and protected from unauthorized use.

Manage software renewals, upgrades, and patches to ensure that software assets are up-to-date and secure.

Develop and maintain software asset management reports and dashboards to measure and report on compliance, costs, and usage.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or a closely related field or equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience

Required Experience: 2+ years’ experience

Required Technical Skills: Experience in role such as asset (software, hardware, OEM) management or procurement; Experience in software utilization tracking; Expert user of Excel, databases, and dashboards; Experience in JIRA and Confluence

Security Clearance Level: No clearance needed

Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and written skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Passion for staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies

Preferred Skills: Bachelor's degree; Strong knowledge of licensing models and compliance requirements; Familiarity with Agile methodology

Location: 100% remote working; DMV preferred; Program resources must be willing to travel occasionally to the MD/VA/DC area on an as needed basis.

US Residency: Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior to submitting an application for a Federal ID Card

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm eastern time. All resources on the program must support occasional incident/issue during non-core business hours.

The likely salary range for this position is $64,600 - $87,400. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Our benefits package for all US-based employees includes a variety of medical plan options, some with Health Savings Accounts, dental plan options, a vision plan, and a 401(k) plan offering the ability to contribute both pre and post-tax dollars up to the IRS annual limits and receive a company match.
