This position reports to STS General Manager and coordinates directly with the STS engineering and value stream leads. Responsibility includes definition of the overarching STS technical roadmap from a strategic perspective, including prioritization coordination among the portfolio businesses, discretionary development implementation and program oversight, cross-portfolio process business lead for the strategic financial plan (SFP) as well as the discretionary annual plan (DAC) & STS business process improvement initiatives. Additionally drives primary and secondary research, insight development, messaging, and recommendations for the most critical strategic issues facing the STS business. Example projects may include market segment prioritization/positioning, growth strategy development, portfolio analysis, long-range strategic planning, and/or enabling technology strategy development that informs organic/inorganic investment. This individual can work hybrid or remote, dependent on background and pertinent experience. Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the team to prepare SFP, Annual Operations Plan (AOP) and special topic initiatives for STS

Lead and coordinate the annual discretionary funding request for STS

Lead a team of product line managers for STS-specific products lines and solutions including Image Generators, Visual Displays, Projectors, simulation environment and framework, training products etcetera

Lead the STS Discretionary Council to reach alignment on the discretionary investment priorities between the portfolio leads and engineering

Support the Value Stream Leaders (VSL) when generating strategies for each one of the STS portfolios, identifying cross-portfolio synergies where appropriate

Generate strategic views and recommendations for discretionary investments and products

Collaborate with the Integrated Solutions strategy team to generate frameworks and establish best practices to be utilized across portfolios

Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across STS

Generate and provide training to support continuous improvement within STS

Lead and/or coordinate special assignments as needed

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with simulation products and solutions

Experience in requirements gathering from business stakeholders, business case development and Value harvesting

Understanding of lifecycle management needs in operations and service

Able to work multiple initiatives in parallel

Able to resolve conflict against competing priorities and be able to listen and understand different points of view
