Center 1 (19052), United States of America, McLean, VirginiaAssociate- Model Governance (Hybrid)The Finance Model and Computation & Automation (CA) Risk Governance group in FRM (Finance Risk Management) is seeking a candidate to work on the management of risks associated with the use of analytic tools (Models, CAs, Scripts, and Impactful Spreadsheets). The candidate will be a member of a team that provides guidance to Risk Advisors (RAs), and provides relevant information to analytic tools’ owners in Finance to assist in mitigating the risk associated with the use of analytic tools and their compliance with enterprise policy. The candidate will join the group as an Associate. The candidate will be a part of a team led by a Senior Manager, but will report to the Senior Director of the Corporate Valuations Group (CVG). The candidate is expected to be stationed at the Capital One, McLean, VA office .The Model and CA Risk Governance Group is charged with the responsibility of ensuring Finance’s compliance with enterprise Policy around the creation, deployment and use of analytic tools. Clients of the group include senior management, business heads, regulators, and both internal and external audit. The group works closely with the Model Risk Office (MRO), Computation & Automation Risk Office (CARO), owners and developers of Finance’s analytic tools to ensure Finance’s compliance to enterprise policies regarding the use of such tools.Key responsibilities for the position are :

Assist the team in maintaining the governance structure around Finance Analytic tools, and a strong control framework around the use of such tools.

Interact with Model Risk Office (MRO) and Computation and Automation Risk Office (CARO) in representing Finance

Facilitate or assist in meetings between MRO, Model Developers (MD), Model Owners (MO), as well as Finance/CARO meetings as the FRM representative

Provide guidance to FRM Risk Advisors (RAs)

Monitor and manage Finance model and CA risk metrics and inventory

Measure and assess Finance model and CA risks and controls

Ensure Finance is well managed in the areas of models, CAs, scripts and impactful spreadsheets

Escalate model, CA, and script compliance issues to manager and senior management, as and when necessary

Provide support for the review and audit of models, CAs, Scripts and Impactful spreadsheets

Play a lead role in other ad-hoc projects and/or tasks

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, statistics, information technology or any of the physical or life sciences.

Preferred Qualifications :

Background in quantitative finance or financial engineering

Ability to program/code/automate processes (preferably using Python)

Ability to understand capital markets products, and analyze transactions and process flows

Excellent written and spoken communication and leadership skills

Experience with data analysis
