Title: AWS Cloud lead

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 8 months contract Our client is looking for an AWS Cloud lead to build end-to-end business solutions and to work with one of the leading healthcare providers in the US.The ideal candidate must possess an excellent background in Cloud tools, technologies and practices. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with domain and technical experts in the organization.

ResponsibilitiesAs an AWS Cloud lead, you will
  • Maintain active relationships with project stakeholders to understand business requirements, leads requirements gathering meetings and reviews designs with the product owner.
  • Advice the IT leadership in defining a business case with ROI for DevOps/Cloud adoption.
  • Architect Cloud/DevOps solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources and infusing key Infrastructure, Application Development and DevOps technologies
  • Develop initial access method and implementation plan for governance model that will dictate role-based access.
  • Develop baseline for deliverables to include; Network access, Restriction of internet facing resources within cloud platform, provision and configure computer resources within Azure and AWS
  • Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.
  • Identify and implement best practices and coach business and IT users.
  • Create technical documentation and maintain knowledge repositories.
  • Adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information.
  • Collaborate with other Cloud Solution Architect, Software Architects, Developers and applications SMEs in developing complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions Requirements
  • Strong background in strategizing and implementing Cloud/DevOps, application lifecycle management and agile solutions for large enterprises.
  • Excellent knowledge in AWS cloud
  • Excellent knowledge in Amazon EMR (Amazon Elastic MapReduce)
  • Excellent knowledge in PySpark
  • Strong understanding of Cloud/DevOps concepts, tools, workflows and best Practices
  • Strong understanding of security concepts including but not limited to firewalls, encryption, identity management, and hardening.
  • Good knowledge and experience working with primary AWS Services (EC2, EBS, EFS, ALB, NLB, SG, S3, Route53, RDS, CloudWatch)
  • Good understanding of AWS VPC, Security Groups, NACL's
  • Hands-on experience on scripting and working with AWS CloudFormation (YAML), Terraform, Ansible
  • Hands-on experience on CI/CD pipelines [Bitbucket / Maven / GIT / Bamboo] for AWS ECS/EKS deployments
  • Excellent hands-on experience
  • Good experience on Application monitoring and log aggregation [ EFK/ELK/Splunk]
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools (JMeter, Selenium) & monitoring tools (Wily)
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development Methodology (Scrum / Kanban)
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively across multiple business and engineering teams.
  • Ability to mentor and support a group of engineers.
