Building Maintenance Technician (Full-time)

Starting Pay: $23 an hour and up. (Depending on experience).

We need an additional Maintenance Technician to join our small but growing team in the West End of Richmond.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, hardworking, and dependable.

This position reports to the Building Engineer, and requires 3-5 years previous experience in Building maintenance, Apartment, Multi-family, Hotel, or Assisted Living Facility maintenance.

The ideal candidate will be a Jack of All Trades with the following skills (Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Carpentry, Painting, Janitorial, Grounds keeping).

There is not an overwhelming number of work orders, so the person we hire will work alongside other team members to complete maintenance projects during downtime.

Main Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work within tenant suites and common areas.

Respond promptly to service requests from tenants and complete work orders efficiently.

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance shop, tools, and inventory areas.

Assist in maintaining grounds, including trash pickup, and minor snow removal.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with property standards and local building codes.

Demonstrating exceptional customer service in all interactions with tenants and staff.

Be available for after-hours emergency maintenance calls on a rotating basis.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.

Previous experience in Building maintenance, Apartment, Multi-family, Hotel, or Assisted Living maintenance preferred.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.

Work Environment:

Building Maintenance; both indoor and outdoor work required.

Exposure to various weather conditions.

Hours: 7am - 4pm Monday - Friday, with on call hours on a rotating schedule.

Starting Pay: $23 an hour and up. (Depending on experience). Plus Bonuses.
