Business Analyst

Our client, a real estate investment firm that owns, operates, develops, and invests in a dynamic portfolio of mixed-use properties, is seeking a talented Business Analyst. As a Business Analyst you will act as a liaison between the IT team and business teams to develop and implement IT solutions within each department. This is a full-time permanent position that is hybrid-style in Arlington, VA.The firm has completed 70+ property transactions representing 30 million square feet and $14 Billion in capital. The skills in the following areas include, user testing, project management, advanced SQL database management and maintenance, and excellent knowledge of Delivery and Process improvement Methodologies.

• Possess an in-depth understanding of the various business units within the organization as well as an understanding of the organization’s IT systems and capabilities
• Identify issues to the integration, management, and interoperability of the current systems and provide solutions for process improvements
• Ability to lead communication and project management with software and application developers to get the job done timely and efficiently
• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats
• Designs future state by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, assess/develop high-level requirements documents for projects and communicate in writing or in meetings with development team
• Lead user testing management for assigned projects as applicable, development of consolidated user test plans, and executing those test plans and obtaining appropriate sign off from user managers
• Provide one-on-one end-user training and group training
• Provide technology recommendations and research to business units as needed
• Develop and maintain digital library
• Perform some general IT tasks as needed (i.e. systems maintenance, user access control, systems troubleshooting, updates, testing, etc.)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Technology, Computer Science or MIS/IS related field
• 5-8 years of IT experience required
• Project Management experience a plus
• Advanced SQL database management and maintenance skills
• Excellent knowledge of Delivery and Process improvement Methodologies
• Strong experience in user testing and project management
