We have an exciting opportunity for a
Business Analyst to join our team in Mclean, VA. The ideal Business Analyst will have experience in agile development lifecycle, with the ability to gather, analyze, document, and validate the needs of the business stakeholders. Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and writing skills. Writing or portfolio samples are often needed to demonstrate these skills. Minimum Required Qualifications:- Employer based sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Must be able to obtain and sustain a Public Trust clearance after employment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree preferred.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience working as a Business Analyst or related field.
- One or more of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Master, PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), SAFe Agilist (5.0), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
- Experience in Agile Methodology like SCRUM, Kanban.
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of software development processes and procedures.
- Strong customer service, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask within tight deadlines, self-directed and results/goal oriented.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Prior Federal experience is highly desired, especially experience working for USDA customers.
- Manage business requirements for highly complex IT applications for Federal government client.
- Lead requirements discussions with business users and subject matter experts.
- Define and write business requirements as user stories and maintain a prioritized product backlog for the business and software development team.
- Create wireframes /mockups and recommend innovative solutions to business problems.
- Lead scrum ceremonies including daily stand up, sprint planning, grooming, review and retrospective meetings.
- Research end user issues, perform impact analysis and work with scrum team to resolve software problems according to established practices.
- Validate development effort against business requirements, identify opportunities for improvement.
- Adapt to changing requirements and maintain requirements traceability.
- Document requirements, business process flows, end user guides and presentation materials using established tools/ templates.
- Knowledge of Azure Boards or other Agile management tools
- Primarily remote but limited travel in the D.C. area is expected.
