ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties for the Business Continuity Planner are to support the business continuity (BC) and Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP) activities.- Monitor status of all ISCPs in the Continuity Planning Tool (CPT).
- Serve as SME on ISCPs.
- Advise Division Chief and TO leadership on all ISCP and disaster recovery (DR) matters.
- Examine and approve draft ISCPs for completeness, technical feasibility, and effectiveness and consult with Program Management Office (PMO) POCs to correct identified inadequacies.
- Participate, in consultation with NGA Operations Center Mission Assurance Division (NOC-MA) POCs, in production of approved ISCPs.
- Manage the rolling compliance of all ISCPs for the Agency via continuous surveillance of recovery plans' expirations and escalation of notification when programs are non-responsive.
- Monitor Authorized Outages on NGA networks for the following: required consultation with impacted users, back-out plan sufficiency, and opportunities to fulfill ISCP exercising requirements.
- Produce monthly metrics on ISCP compliance and compliance management.
- Provide BC-DR Executive support to CIO-T leadership during normal and emergent circumstances.
- Coordinate review and signatures on directorate Continuity documentation.
- Support desk-side training under the CIO-T Senior BC-DR Training Program.
- Support business continuity decision making with threat and risk analysis encompassing an All Hazards approach.
- Business Continuity Professional certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI) or a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification (ISC2) or obtain one of the two noted certifications within 180 days of start where the Technical Monitor and COR can approve extending the due date based on availability of courses required to complete the certification.
- Federal Emergency Management Agency Level 1 (Professional Continuity Practitioner) certification or obtain within 180 days of start where the Technical Monitor and COR can approve extending the due date based on availability of courses required to complete the certification.
- Bachelor's Degree within a related field (e.g. Information Technology, Information Assurance, Cyber Security, or Engineering)
- 7-10 years of demonstrated experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
- Shall be knowledgeable of information systems accreditation under ICD-503 (NIST SP 800-37).
- Experience in recovering information systems under all circumstances.
- Experience may be broad-based crossing multiple markets (i.e., Government or industry).
- Knowledgeable of Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) from a BC-DR perspective.
- Federal Emergency Management Agency Level 2 (Master Continuity Practitioner) certification.
- Other IT certification such as GSLC (SANS) Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) certification
- Experience in creating and managing an information system-related metric program
