Overview The role will be responsible for using various systems, methods, and models to perform financial reporting and analysis. The candidate will support the budget process, explain variances to actual performance, and regularly update Navy Federal’s pro forma balance sheet and income statement. Responsibilities
Collaborate with business unit partners across the organization to develop and enhance Navy Federal’s balance sheet and income statement budget and pro forma forecasts
Analyze and investigate variances to budget and determine explanatory drivers of changes in forecast
Provide support in preparing monthly financial performance reporting to senior management
Perform impact analysis on behavioral model updates and their effect on forecasted balances and interest income/expense
Evaluate balance sheet management strategies and their impact to financial performance
Work with business unit partners to optimize financial performance and add value to the member experience
Perform impact analyses to support strategies related to product/service initiatives
Support the annual capital planning and stress testing exercise by coordinating various inputs, scenarios, strategies, and reporting
Maintain and enhance documentation, procedures, and controls related to balance sheet planning processes and reporting
Qualifications
Knowledge of financial analysis, financial modeling, and financial risk management; with preference towards hands-on experience
Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to research, analyze and interpret complex statistical and financial data
Knowledge or experience with programs and systems used for storing, retrieving, and analyzing large sets of data (SQL, SAS, Hyperion / Smart View, SPSS) preferred
Understanding and/or experience with Stress Testing, Scenario Analysis and Sensitivity Analysis
Preferred knowledge and/or experience in Asset/Liability management (ALM), and familiarity with related concepts and metrics (EVE, NII, NIM, LCR, NSFR, capital ratios, etc)
Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to research, analyze and interpret complex statistical and financial data
Familiarity with rules, regulations, and trends relevant to the credit union and retail banking industries
Experience participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
Persuasive and diplomatic communication, both verbal and written, of facts and conclusions related to complex analytical results and issues
Effective interaction with all levels of management and staff Bachelor degree in finance, economics, accounting or related field
Advanced degree or professional certification (CFA, FRM, PRM, or CPA) preferred
