The ideal candidate will support senior analysts in researching, analyzing, and developing policy recommendations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in policy analysis and contribute to the development of impactful policies.Candidate will provide support for DoDIN Modernization Infrastructure support including DoDNet 4th Estate Network Optimization (4ENO) eff orts, and other eff orts related to infrastructure support.Responsibilities:Assist in conducti ng research and analysis on policy issues.
Assist in drafting policy briefs, reports, and other documents.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather information and insights.
Active oversight of assigned programs (example: DISA's DoDNet/4ENO PMO) through participating in meetings with DoD stakeholders.
Support development, coordination, tracking of progress and upcoming milestones for assigned projects.
Providing notes and situation reports to client aft er meetings, to give client awareness of eff orts
Escalate issues heard during these meetings to government client
Track status of the overall program, what is working well, what is a concern, status of migrations, schedule and provide updates to client, as needed.
Project management skills to ensure DoD CIO understands the technical solution and migration schedule and asks questions to understand it if there are concerns/gaps in understanding.
Attend program specific meetings with the government client where project status is discussed or other meetings, as necessary.
For TDM elimination, position would ensure new TDM reporting dashboard is accurate, up to date and track status of DoD components.
Support the identification of opportunities presented by advances in technology for Information Technology (IT) system modernization as well as associated risks and costs to include Software Defined Networking (SDN), hybrid cloud-based computing including hyperconverged services, and common enterprise level shared services to support full stack service delivery.
Make recommendations on the initiation, modification or termination of plans, programs, policies, and procedures to support optimization and technology enhancements for the DoDIN. Support development and coordination of plans to incorporate these advance technologies.
Supports the update of pertinent DoD Instructions. Supports drafting, project management, including project scheduling of these types of projects.
A willingness/ability to reach outside the DoD CIO to coordinate work activities to accomplish tasks, under the direction of DoD CIO leads.
Maintain SharePoint solutions, supporting business processes, and ensure seamless integration with other systems.
Qualifications:Required:Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) with 5 years generalized experience related to this position.Strong analytical and research skills. Need for excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to support multiple logistical tasks effectively to meet deadlines. Familiarity with policy analysis methodologies and techniques is a plus. Experience with SharePoint and Office 365 tools such as PowerApps is a plus. Experience with business intelligence and reporting solutions preferred. Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies is a plus.Desired Qualifications:Previous experience supporting DoD CIO or a MILDEP is beneficial, especially having experience in a policy analysis role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills needed.Helpful Experience:Experience or awareness of data centers, federal IT strategy and implementation on would be helpful.
