Description SAIC's National Security & Space Group is seeking a Chief of Systems Engineering, Integration and Test to fill a critical position in the Systems Integration Group (SIG). The position is in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. The SIG directly supports numerous contracts across multiple customers in the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Enterprise, focused on the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle. The Chief of Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) will lead and manage the SEIT team, responsible for horizontal and vertical integration across all engineering elements of the program, ensuring systems engineering processes and timely development of core systems engineering work for a System of Systems Integration Program. You will work side-by-side with program leadership and staff comprised of world class System Engineers, Systems Architects, Integration and Domain Experts providing integration solutions across the portfolio. Responsibilities include:
  • Lead and manage the Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) Team
  • Formulate, direct, and apply planning and policy for the SEIT Team to ensure technical validity, efficiency, safety and credibility in test and evaluation
  • Direct horizontal and vertical integration across all engineering elements of the program, ensuring systems engineering processes and timely development of core systems engineering work for a System of Systems Integration projects.
  • Develop plans to analyze key system level capabilities to draw conclusions and report results from testing to determine engineering sufficiency
  • Drive collaboration, situational awareness and understanding across the team and programs
  • Lead and oversee in-depth reviews and analysis of program plans
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and direct support to portfolio programs

Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. Required:
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
  • Demonstrated successful performance in leading multi-discipline technical teams in system level design & development, test requirements definition, analysis, and risk mitigation for space-based environments
  • Knowledge of complex systems assessment, system level interface design and performance characterization and metrics demonstrated in system level test events
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and verbal / written communication skills; able to convey information across multiple customer and corporate audiences
  • Capability to adapt to fluid situations and prioritize taskings in a dynamic environment
Desired:
  • Professional certification such as CSEP, IASAE or DAWIA
  • MS degree in Engineering or related technical degree
  • Experience in all aspects of the engineering process from requirements analysis through verification testing
  • Extensive experience in a Systems Engineering Integration and Test environment for complex systems, specifically Space and Ground systems supporting DoD and/or IC Space programs.
