Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced Civil Designer to join our Water & Wastewater group in our Richmond, VA office location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs and construction documents. Actively assists the Project Manager and assigns tasks and schedules to Project Engineers and project team members, answers questions and monitors progress.Checks the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.Makes major design decisions that meet the needs of external customers while coordinating the impact of such decisions on related project efforts.Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:At least three years of design/engineering experience in municipal infrastructure is required.  Intermediate to advanced ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D software is required.Ability to use other engineering automation tools (Revit, BIM 360) is preferred.Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans.Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities.Must demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff.
