Timmons Group is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our Information Technology and Enterprise Solutions Group working remotely.The key responsibility of the Cloud Engineer is to take full ownership and initiative in getting deeply involved and integrated with the needs of application developers and daily operational challenges. This individual should understand the overall goals and constraints of our projects and work to define, architect, construct and support the platform on which solutions will reside. This individual should work intimately with developers to assist in automation scripting and tools to support rapid deployment of solutions on internal and client systems. The Cloud Engineer has experience with streamlining code release and development efforts.Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Participates in agile project team activities (including multiple scrums, planning and review sessions) to become integrated with the development team and active projectsParticipates in joint project evaluation to define optimal architecturePerforms architecture setup to include networking, VMs, dedicated servers and storageEvaluates cloud options and opportunities based on a set of requirementsPerforms solution testing and evaluation to assist developers in ever-increasing system performance and optimization of solutionsPerforms Systems & Applications AdministrationProvides technical support as neededProvides release management support and guidance using COTS tools and scriptingWorks with QA / QC team to help automate functional, unit, and integration testingProvides technical analysis to support our clients and the development teamPerforms other duties as assignedSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferredIdeal candidates will have between 2-5 years of experience in cloud engineeringAWS certification preferred Real-world experience in the operations of customer-facing websites with 24X7 uptime requirementsExperience with managing and designing with cloud infrastructure providers (Amazon, Azure)Extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance of Cloud infrastructure (Aws, Azure)Extensive knowledge and experience in DevOps / SvsOps PracticesFundamental knowledge of scripting languagesFundamental knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), and other Microsoft family of products like MS SQL ServerExperience with server and desktop virtualization platforms (Citrix, VMware, and Microsoft)Real-world experience with building platforms that allows developers to self-service environments for testing and production (and deployments to those environments)Experience in professional services preferred
