If you answered “yes,” then read on!We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position.Job SummaryDominion Energy’s Electric Transmission Planning & Communications organization is currently seeking a Communications Specialist to join our Electric Transmission Communications team. This position will communicate the need and benefit of large electric infrastructure projects to internal and external stakeholders using a variety of communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement skills. Responsibilities include crafting stakeholder communications (presentations, direct mail, collateral, visuals, digital content, etc) to keep customers and others fully informed on project status and new activities. This role will use marketing and negotiation skills to communicate to, promote and influence stakeholders regarding electric transmission projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for directly supporting Project Managers and their construction teams to assist with communications to property owners (residential, commercial, industrial, and governmental) and other stakeholders

The position continuously communicates the impacts and benefits of projects to public stakeholders and acts as a liaison between the Dominion Energy construction team and the community.

The person should have the ability to be flexible and handle changing and emerging priorities, should be adept at building rapport with internal and external stakeholders, and should be able to influence communicative outcomes.

This position requires a highly proficient candidate willing to be flexible in support of various other duties as assigned.

Specific Duties include:

Supporting a variety of electric transmission projects, with a focus on substation and electric transmission lines to support solar interconnections, grid modernization, and electric vehicle charging deployment.

Work closely with Construction and Permitting process decision makers to coordinate outreach for upcoming projects

Participate in pre-construction meetings

Create and assist with the implementation of Construction Communications plans

Notify all property owners in writing and verbally of project construction activities/before any significant construction activity occurs on their property

Create digital communications in coordination with internal and third-party vendors to reach targeted audiences to include social media and website mediums

Collaborate with internal partners and/or third-party vendors to identify stakeholders and acquire, update and maintain mailing list and other contact information to reach stakeholders

Coordination of Pre-Construction Community Meetings/Open Houses and update presentations

Meet and interact with property owners as needed to address project concerns

Act as a liaison between project/construction team and community

Prepare content for website and project dashboard

Prepare Construction Update content for internal and external audiences

Participate in pre-construction meetings at the discretion of Project Manager and/or Construction Coordinator, Superintendent, and/or Forestry

Coordinate meetings with property owners and team

Perform a variety of customer relations/customer service duties to ensure prompt processing of customer requests.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Communications Specialist: 2-5 years communications or public relations experience (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)

Strong communication, writing, editing and interpersonal skills

Excellent research and problem-solving skills

Experience with handling difficult Customer Service situations-diplomacy, tactfulness and negotiation skills

Ability to coordinate fulfillment forms, letters, customer correspondence and other required materials for distribution to various publics

Understanding of some technical/engineering aspects is desirable but not required

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience with handling difficult Customer Service situations

Excellent work prioritization and time management skills

While in the field, candidate will be wearing construction safety gear such as: hard hat, steel toe boots, safety vest and glasses while at construction site
