And our work depends on a Configuration Manager joining our team to support our Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) program with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As the Configuration Manager, you will be trusted to lead a team of Configuration Analysts and Configuration Management (CM) Tool SME(s) to ensure application-centric deployments using the appropriate underlying application software versions are successfully executed to multiple environments while adhering to related ITIL processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Maintain the CM plan and processes including definition of scope, process steps and RACI.

Proactively partner with program stakeholders (functional, technical, testing, process) to define what needs to be deployed to which environment(s), at what time, using what methods and validations.

Maintain an accurate and transparent inventory of all demands on the CM team, including status, assignments, priority, and any challenges to completing them. Make available to stakeholders.

Provide functional and administrative Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for all applications or tools that directly support the CM process. Note that technical teams will perform the actual release upgrades and patching in concert with your team, so plan proactively to avoid disruptions.

Govern the CM applications and tools to ensure the data remains pure as the gold copy, and that backup and recovery procedures are both documented and reliably exercised when needed. This includes overseeing the merging of deployed releases to the main branch and other streams.

Provide guidance and training to other program teams on how to use or understand the version-control and deployment tools and processes within the CM area of ownership.

Ensure proper security and audit controls are defined, documented, enforced, and maintained to ensure only authorized people can perform the intended actions on the applicable data and environments.

Ensure application-centric deployments using the appropriate underlying application software versions are successfully executed to multiple environments while adhering to related ITIL processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Provide support for Emergency Changes and weekend deployments as needed.

Manage the sync of releases to other instances as needed.

Prepare configuration documentation and maintain the Configuration Management (CM) database.

Prepare comparison reports for deployed releases in Test and Prod to ensure that only approved tested code is being deployed to Prod.

Assist in management, maintenance and automating of CM tools and the evaluation and implementation of new tools. This includes future program pursuits of DevSecOps and increased automation.

Review and recommend improvements to existing CM processes.

Participate in Technical Operations and/or Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings as needed.

Maintain proper version control of software deliverables, SOP’s and Work Products.

Oversee the delivery of software applications in various environments within an Agile/DevOps program.

Capture and report deployment metrics and KPI’s on a weekly basis.

Perform self-audit of our processes to ensure that the correct process and procedures are followed.

Participate in the HOM Risk Management Process through risk and issue identification and resolution.

Provide competent financial management of the budget allocated to you in line with program standards.

Provide compelling people manager results that align with GDIT and program expectations and result in employee retention, satisfaction and decreased single-point-of-failure risk(s).

Provide concise status reports that meet the needs of the intended stakeholder and timeframe.

Provide evening and weekend support as needed for team/issue escalation.

Competently perform Asset Owner (ITAM) responsibilities for all CM applications/tools to ensure license compliance, maintenance support, proactive planning for End-of-Life risk, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

BS/BA or the equivalent and 5+ years’ experience working in similar business critical, large-scale application environment.

5+ years of overall hands-on experience as a Configuration Analyst, or IT resource responsible for using and/or administering Configuration Management (CM) and version control applications/tools.

2+ years of Configuration Management in a leadership capacity.

2+ years of experience operating in an ITIL/ITSM process area.

Courage to prevent unauthorized exceptions to CM process despite business case pressure.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills that demonstrate confidence with technology and business process.

Demonstrate excellent process knowledge and strength in defining and maintaining process.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to interact other teams within the program.

Works independently under general supervision.

Effective people manager experience including employees, contractors and remote team members.

Competency with Microsoft Office products.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD:

Experience with the ServiceNow platform.

ITIL Foundation certification v3 or higher. Intermediate education/certification for configuration management.

DevSecOps experience, knowledge, certification(s) and/or passion.

Experience with and/or knowledge of Oracle EBS, Oracle ConfigSnapshot or similar products.

Experience with and/or knowledge of FlexDeploy or similar products.

Experience with and/or knowledge of GitLab or similar products.

Experience with and/or knowledge of UFT/QTP (MicroFocus Unified Functional Testing) or similar products.

Experience in a Federal O&M environment.
